Study Notes ⊹ MATH

Study Notes
danielle meredith

Today in Mathematics, we are learning to make study notes.
These can be used to revise information for our tests.

彡 Multiples
Multiples are the result or product of
multiplying a number by another number.

彡 Factors
The numbers that another number can be
divided by.

彡 Prime Number
A prime number is a number that is
greater than one that only has 2 factors
(can only be divided by 1 and itself).

Highest Common Factor (HCF)
The highest common factor is the highest number
that divides exactly into two or more numbers

彡 Lowest Common Multiple (LCM)
The lowest common multiple is the smallest
of the common multiples between two or more
numbers.

ೃ⁀➷ ORDER OF OPERATION: BEDMAS ೃ⁀➷
The order of operations is the order that you solve a mathematical equation. Without B.E.D.M.A.S, equations would be solved incorrectly.

彡 B
B stands for brackets (parentheses)

彡 E
E stands for exponents (the number or letter written
above and to the right of a mathematical expression)

彡 D
D stands for division (splitting a number by another
number)

彡 M
M stands for multiplication (repeated addition
or adding equal groups)

彡 A
A stands for addition (adding two numbers together)

彡 S
S stands for subtraction (taking away numbers by other
numbers)

ೃ⁀➷ ROUNDING ೃ⁀➷
Replacing a number with an approximate value that has a shorter, simpler or more explicit representation. Rounding numbers between 1-4 would require rounding down. Rounding numbers between 5-9 would require rounding up.

彡 6.54
Rounding 6.54 to one decimal point would be 6.5 because
it's rounding down the 54 to 50 and removing the unnecessary 0.

彡 7.39
Rounding 7.39 to one decimal point would be 7.4 because
it's rounding up the 39 to 40 and removing the unnecessary 0.

ೃ⁀➷ STANDARD FORM ೃ⁀➷
Standard form is a way of writing down very large or very small numbers easily.

彡 39000
The standard form of 39000 is 39 x 10^4

彡 0.00045
The standard form of 0.00045 is 4.5 x 10^-4

SMART Goals
danielle meredith

Today in Period 1 Mathematics, we set some smart goals.
These were set to help us stay on track and to give us
something to work towards to.

My SMART Goal was to get higher scores in my PATs.
I would do this by working for 30 minutes every day on
education perfect, homework, or any other resource that I
can receive help or information for math from
.
