Maintaining The Status Quo - SLJ Part 2

~Maintaining The Status Quo~
BONUS ACTIVITY

Image result for University New Zealand

I think that University students shouldn't have to pay much for their education because when people
don't have much money to begin with and they might not be able to go on studying and they can't earn a degree to earn enough money to help their family.

I think that University shouldn't be too expensive but you should still have to pay a bit of money for the school to get textbooks and fund the school to keep it running. I think an appropriate law is to get a year and a half free and then the rest is $300 a month so it's only 3,600 a year

Coming To An End - SLJ Part 2

~Coming To An End~
Above this is a picture of women's style back in the 1940's after the 2nd World War.

This is a picture of woman's style currently

I definitely think that there is a difference between the styles of teach of the eras because back then
women used to wear skirts, hats, and waist tightening jackets, but now it's about being comfortable and
wearing what we like to wear instead of sticking to a strict style just for you to blend in with the crowd.
I prefer the style of the current era because it's more comfortable and about your style, not everybody
elses style.

The Roaring 20's - SLJ Part 2

~The Roaring 20's~
Bonus Activity

Landing safe at Christchurch,
after a 14 hour trip.
I was excited in the start but,
a series of terrible events made my stomach flip.
No more communication made my heart drop,
what made my heart drop, was when the radio stopped.
With the severe rain and the heavy ice,
I was surprised that there weren't any mice.
In the end it was worth it because I landed with all my friends,
and the journey was an adventure that I can't even comprehend.

The Early Years - SLJ Part 2

~The Early Years~

Kate Sheppard, the woman who made NZ the first contry to allow women the right to vote.
Aka, the woman on the Ten Dollar note.

What I think about the fact that women in Saudi Arabia weren't legally allowed to vote until 2015
is that it's not a good idea because all women should have rights, and everyone's vote should count. I think it is not fair because we're not living in the days where women stay home and clean while men go to work and earn all of the money.

~BONUS ACTIVITY~

I felt sad when I read the poem about Flanders Field because I thought of all of the
soldiers that died in the war fighting for freedom in our country, but I also feel happy and lucky because we have a safe and free country with a government that is not corrupt.

I liked this poem very much and I think that it is very creative and beautiful,
but also has a meaning behind it.

Hitting A High Note - SLJ Part 2

~Hitting A High Note~

Image result for Matatini
This bonus activity is about Te Matatini.
I am going to personally rate the 3 clips of performances from previous festivals.
Here are my rankings...

Number one is Te Puku o Te Ika because I loved the tribute and the singing, but I especially loved the ending when the girls at the front came to the front of the stage and put their head piece on the stage.

My Number Two is Te Iti Kahurangi because I loved how the woman front and centre hit a really high note and did it amazingly.

My Number Three is Tamatea Arikinui because it didn't have much movement but the singing was beautiful and it was an great performance.

I loved ranking these performances today,
and stay tuned for the rest of my Summer Learning Journey blog posts.
