SMART Goals ⊹ MATH

SMART Goals
danielle meredith

Today in Period 1 Mathematics, we set some smart goals.
These were set to help us stay on track and to give us
something to work towards to.

My SMART Goal was to get higher scores in my PATs.
I would do this by working for 30 minutes every day on
education perfect, homework, or any other resource that I
can receive help or information for math from
.

Thank you for reading this blog post!

Tower Graph!

~Tower Graph~

At the beginnning of the school year, the first thing that we did for
maths was making towers with blocks. We found out how many blocks were in each tower as it grew taller. This is the graph that I made to show how the tower grew.

Thank you for reading this,
and come back soon for more 2019 posts!

~Have a great day!~

Factors

~Factors~

In class my maths group have been learning about factors!
My teacher asked my maths group to make a poster about factors, and I wanted to share mine with you.
Here is my poster ...
I hope that you have learnt something about factors from the poster that I made, and if you could choose another subject for schools, what would it be?

How tall is Room 9?

~Measuring Our Heights~

Today for maths instead of doing something like times tables, or division, we measured our heights with 1 metre rulers. It was loads of fun and we would like to show you what we've done.
Here are some photos of my friends and I measuring eachother.

Okay, maybe this measurement with Alanna was little inaccurate... We measured her at 176cm!
Oops, sorry Alanna!

Bridget and I had some funny moments when we were measuring each other.

A lot of times we got each other's heights wrong, this was the 7th time we measured Alanna!

This measurement was tricky, we used a ruler with no indication of if it were cm or mm!

This was loads of fun, even though we did most of the heights inaccurately!
So come back later for more blog posts about what I've been learning at school.

Money, Money ...And More Money!

~Money Challenge!~
Image result for MOney
During the time we do maths in class, we played the money challenge!
The money challenge is when our teacher uses play/math money and we count it all up to get the total.
The first group that gets the correct total wins. We had a lot of fun playing this, but it was totally frustrating at the same time!
Here are some photographs of my groups doing the money challenge.

Cyrus, Alanna, and I were doing the money challenge - Too bad we didn't win!

Group 2A (Louis, Giselle, And I) were counting up the money.
It was so fun - And Frustrating!

Fact Families!

~Fact Families~

For homework in week 3, one of the tasks were that we had to play fact families.
Fact families is a maths game that looks like this...
Check out the game at the link above, but fact families was actually a really cool maths game.
Something I noticed about fact families, was that every level had higher numbers and it became more complex the longer you play.

For even more cool posts, come back every week!
